History

Opening dates) |
"How did Coffee Works become who they are today?" you ask?
Quality question! Put on your Captain Cook hats on and read
on to discover some of the most important dates in history!
(Coffee Works History that is!)
1988
Arabicas NQ begins its life as Boutique Roasters at Rusty’s
Markets in Cairns, every Saturday. We have only one product,
Queensland Blue.
1990
'Roast and Post' is born.
1993
Arabicas NQ becomes Arabicas Coffee Australia. We grow our
range from One to Nine.
1995
Arabicas is relocated from "home" to our "big shed" in Mason
Street, Mareeba (where we are now)
1998
Coffee Works opens its doors, operating Monday – Friday. The
only product on sale was Coffee!
1999
Coffee Works now open 7 days a week!
2004
We rebrand from Arabicas Coffee Australia to Cairns
Highlands Coffee.
2005
The Roastery is relocated to its current home, the "bigger
shed."
2006
Chocolate Works opens in April.
2007
New Cafe opens at Easter Time. Coffee World opens in August.
2008
Gifts are introduced to Coffee Works. Market Stalls commence
at Yungaburra and Port Douglas, selling coffee, tea and
chocolate.
2009
BBQ Lunches begin at Coffee Works
2011
Cairns Gourmet Store opens in April
2015
Port Douglas Gourmet Store opens in April. Townsville
Gourmet Store opens in August. |

The taste (and caffeine) sends me into a crazy hypo
overdrive… It’s apparently because of this I am limited (by
the Coffee Works Girls) as to how many I am allowed to have
a day…

Definitely Lemon Myrtle in White Chocolate
because it just melts in your mouth with a
sweet/lemony taste that makes your taste buds
explode with happiness and you just crave more…
YUM.
If you could choose, what would be your
Superpower?
Hmmm… Well it would definitely have to be to fix
things (like the movie Wreck It Ralph, the guy
with that magic hammer and how he can fix
ANYTHING, even himself when he got hurt!) There
is so much in this world that needs fixing. So,
if I had this superpower, the world would be
fixed!
Favourite thing about Coffee Works?
My favourite thing would have to be the vast
selection of beautiful gifts, bling and sparkle
that our fabulous gift shop offers. If only I
was super-duper rich… I would buy one (or two)
of EVERYTHING!
